Acupuncture, Herbalism, Energy Healing
About Lauren Boika M.Ac.O.M., L.Ac.
My first career after college was as a Registered Veterinary Technician. I love animals and wanted to care for them in their times of need, and to be a voice for them when they didn't have one. I have worked with many interesting species including dogs, cats, primates, hawks, parrots, alpacas, snakes, turtles, rodents and so many others! My favorite task as a Registered Veterinary Technician was performing anesthesia for surgeries. I took lots of continuing education credits for exotic small animal anesthesia because they are delicate little creatures and were fun to work with. I did this for over 10 years all the while dabbling in herbal studies and natural medicine. I studied Celtic herbalism through a correspondence course from Kildare, Ireland.
I decided to make my hobby into a living. I graduated with a Masters Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and a Tui Na certificate from the Arizona School of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine in 2012.
I graduated from a 4-year program condensed into 3 years of full-time study and internship with completion of 3,146 total hours. During school, I had a special interest in peripheral neuropathy due to chemotherapy and radiation treatment and wrote my Master's Project describing my findings and treatments implemented on my patients with such conditions.
During my time in acupuncture school, I was introduced to the powerful, yet subtle healing modality of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy. Heidi Wilson's CST level 1 was part of our school curriculum, and I have continued studying Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy ever since.
I trained in Sedona, AZ. in Usui Reiki Ryoho levels 1 and 2 in 2010. I attained level 3 and Master Teacher Degree in 2020 in Cleveland, OH.
I am grateful for having the experience of treating many children of all ages at the pain clinic at Nationwide Children's Hospital. Acupuncture is amazing for children and there are many needle-free options for them! I also gained experience working at holistic veterinary hospitals and have literally seen miracles happen before my eyes!
I am very blessed that I do what I love for a living. I deeply enjoy connecting and getting to know everyone I work with; I always treat my patients as the individual they are. People describe me with a compassionate and kind disposition which my patients appreciate.
Currently, I see patients in Streetsboro, Ohio. I have a special interest in treating pain maintenance and women's health issues.
